Paul Eluard

  • what if vampires are like mosquitoes and only the ladies drink blood

  • Pretty sure that would mean the fellas drink tree sap or something. Imagine running from a vampire thru the woods and passing her husband who’s biting a tree real hard

  • Maple syrup vampire husband

  • Encounter: Maple syrup vampire husband drinking sap in the woods, also trying to lure you to his literally bloodthirsty wife.

  • The wife has the classic Villain Of The Night aesthetic, all black, flowing cape, everything, and her husband is wearing red flannel, overalls, a beard, and is welding a log-splitting axe

  • This person gets it! Classic vampire lady and her lumberjack husband!

A set of the last photographs ever taken of glam star MARC BOLAN, shot by fan Kathleen Heron Andryszewski while in London, UK, September 13 1977 - three days before Marc’s untimely death:

“In September 1977, Judith and I visited London to stay with family friends. We were heading for New Bond Street with the intention of meeting Marc. We would get up each morning and sit outside Marc’s office. There was a café next door with tables outside, so we would sit there each day with the table as close to the door to Marc’s office as we could. On 13 September we looked up to see the most beautiful sight walking towards us; there was no missing Marc with his pink satin jacket and red trousers. Marc was lovely and let us snap away taking photos. I remember him commenting on our accent and noting that we were from Newcastle. He went into the office but said that if we hung around he would come back down. No decision to make there, then! He returned a while later with a woman and they went into the café. Judith and I decided not to follow him, as we didn’t want to invade his privacy too much. [...] We arrived home in Morpeth on 15 September dying to go to the photographers’ in the morning to have our photos developed. No instant photos in those days - you got your prints a week later. [...] I was woken up the morning of the 16th by my mam. I knew she had bad news by the look on her face. Devastation was an understatement; I cannot describe my grief or disbelief at what had happened. I remember Judith and I crying all the way to the photographers’ and begging them not to lose the film.”

  • gaza is still under blockade, sheikh jarrah is also under blockade with residents not being able to go out and visitors not being able to go in, israhell has already violated the conditions of the ceasefire by attacking worshippers at the al aqsa mosque as well as provoking sonic booms above gaza to strike even more fear after 11 days of hell, and now mass arrests across lydd haifa and other occupied cities targetting palestinian youth primarily. this is collective punishment. to paraphrase a tweet i saw some days ago, palestinian liberation won’t take 3 to 5 business days so hang in there.

    Kate MacDowell - “Venus”

  • israel just annihilated the al jazeera and ap offices on live tv

  • absolutely brazen, the sheer balls on these guys

  • the us has bombed al jazeera offices in the past, claiming they shelter legitimate military targets and islamophobia means the west shrugged it off but the claim that the AP of all groups were sheltering legitimate military targets is going to be a much, much harder sell to the international community.

  • here's the AP article

  • “'The world will know less about what is happening in Gaza because of what happened today,' AP President and CEO Gary Pruitt said in a statement." - from this article

This is so fucked. The article goes on to try to make it a two sided conflict as much as possible -- people on both sides destroying each other's property, etc.

But Israel has killed 139 people in its strikes, according to this. Hamas has killed 8.

Leaving aside the fact that these articles never talk about the existing power dynamic & oppression of Palestineans, these are clearly unequal numbers.

  •  When discussing Palestine/Israel, “It’s an extremely complicated situation” is always code for one of two things:

“I’m a wolf in sheep’s clothing trying to obfuscate the reality that Israel is a settler-colonial entity engaged in daily terrorism and ethnic cleansing by confusing you and reducing your confidence to speak openly about this topic”

    or

“I have no idea wtf I’m talking about”

    There is absolutely no in-between

  • “…because the situation is crystal clear. One of the main successes of Israel propaganda is to convince the world that the situation is complicated. But it’s far from being complicated. It’s probably the least complicated conflict in the world today. And it’s all about, basically, those who have the power, those who oppress and subjugate and tread over the indigenous people of the land, who have been oppressed and subjugated and expelled from the land. And this is what it’s about. The situation here is not very different, other than the way it is perceived in the world and among Israeli society themselves.”
